About the job Transaction Banking Operations Department Head
Job Purpose:
The position is primarily responsible for overseeing the transaction banking operational goals and objectives to ensure
delivery of operational services and support to Cash Agents, Channel Partners and clients of the Bank. It is also
responsible for managing the coordination and required facilitation for the efficient back-end operation of Bank
products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Planning and Direction-Setting
1. Contributes to overall operations and strategic planning by actively participating in corporate
strategic planning activities
2. Formulates the annual operating and business plans/programs in line with overall corporate
goals and objectives
3. Develops long-term and short-term plans related to card products, payment and deployment
of electronic devices/channels of the Bank.
4. Leads the formulation of Departments strategy in improving performance, implementation of
approved programs, policies and procedures documentation.
B. Transaction Banking Operations
1. Leads and manages the support and operational services of the following:
a. Cash Agent back-end support
b. Debit Card generation, inventory, distribution, issuance and maintenance.
c. Settlement report generation and reconciliation
d. Complaint and customer inquiries Management
e. Transactional dispute, arbitration handling & fraud management
f. Performance and Risk Management
2. Manages the day to day operational support services of the Bank across the following
delivery channels: Cash Agents, ATM, POS, Mobile, Internet and Contact Center.
3. Ensures that operational goals of the Department are achieved while meeting the service
level agreement and quality standards set by Bank.
4. Ensures delivery of back-end operations and after sales support of services not limited to:
Settlement and reconciliation, account/card maintenance, transaction investigation, fraud
handling, dispute management, terminal monitoring, and customer complaint handling.
5. Oversees all transaction reports and ensures that a high degree of accuracy is maintained by
the bank.
C. Regulatory Compliance
1. Ensures that all reportorial requirements by BSP are submitted timely to avoid non-
compliance and penalties.
2. Monitors BSP and audit findings, and ensures that these are promptly addressed and
resolved.
3. Ensures data privacy and integrity of key databases (reports, clients' confidential information,
regulatory communications, legal documents, etc.).
D. Management Leadership
1. Recommends plans, programs, budget, and performance targets of the team.
2. Plans, directs and coordinates all activities in the department to reach maximum level of
employee productivity throughout the workforce.
3. Provides upfront leadership in supervising all direct and indirect reports and planning for their
career advancement and aspirations.
4. Supervises and evaluates the performance of all direct reports.
5. Approves/schedules all vacation leaves of all direct reports.
D. Others
1. Makes recommendations on matters pertinent to business operations and other related
activities
2. Performs other related duties as assigned.
