COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Our client, a Karachi-based, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI), seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:
Job Role
The Product Manager Merchant Wallets will own the development and go-to-market of our merchant-facing products. This role requires building the product for merchants (MSMEs, small businesses) to accept digital payments and driving B2B adoption while ensuring a smooth, secure, and compliant merchant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the merchant wallet product vision, roadmap, and strategy in line with company goals
- Work with engineering and design to build features for merchants: merchant onboarding, acceptance, value added features, etc
- Coordinate with compliance and risk teams to ensure merchant wallet operations meet regulatory requirements (KYC/AML, transaction limits, fraud)
- Build and maintain pricing / fee models (transaction fees, wallet hold fees) that are competitive and scalable
- Conduct merchant research: Interview potential and pilot merchants, collect feedback, and understand pain points
- Partner with sales, operations, and customer success teams to support go-to-market, onboarding, and retention of merchant customers
- Define and track product metrics, such as number of merchants onboardings, volume through merchant wallet, transaction frequency, merchant churn, dispute rate
- Run pilot merchant programs, collect feedback, iterate product, and prepare for full-scale launch
- Lead the merchant wallet product by driving cross-functional alignment across commercial, engineering, and operations teams on product priorities, strategy, and execution
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education, preferably a Masters degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field from an HEC-recognized or equivalent foreign institution.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technology roles, ideally in a tech startup, Fintech, or Digital-first organization
- Prior product management experience, preferably in payments, fintech, or B2B financial products
- Experience working in a regulated financial environment is a plus
Requirements
- Excellent business sense: Able to define pricing, analyze unit economics, and build scalable B2B models
- Analytical mindset: Experience tracking and interpreting KPIs, merchant metrics, and operational data
- Cross-functional leadership: Ability to lead teams across product, compliance, sales, and operations
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make trade-offs (speed vs risk, feature vs compliance)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management
Age
