About the job M&E Officer
As an MEL Officer, you will report to the Senior Manager RMEL and will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating and capturing learnings of clients Pakistan's project activities and its implementing partners.
- Periodically monitor project activities and conduct data quality checks of all subrecipients to ensure there are no gaps or inconsistencies within the captured/reported information.
- Conduct field visits for each sub-award, document the visits, and provide programmatic recommendations based on observations.
- Regularly engage with MEL Points of Contact (PoCs) of all sub-awards, review their MEL procedures, and provide supportive supervision.
- Provide routine and prompt progress updates on key indicators. Manage internal communication on MEL progress and results.
- Support the development, annual update/review, and implementation of the projects MEL-related activities.
- Conduct periodic research and case studies to measure the impact of activities and assist with program-level evaluation.
- Facilitate training sessions for implementing partners (IPs) and field staff on MEL best practices and data quality standards.
- Implement established tools and systems to gather, analyze, and disseminate project information, ensuring compliance with reporting and data quality requirements of donors and PSI.
- Verify that partners data reports are cleaned and collated for reporting on donor templates.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of MEL trackers and databases.
- Encourage feedback from IPs and team members to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Ensure efficient organization and coordination of departmental events and training sessions.
- Maintain necessary project management information systems (MIS) and coordinate with the local MIS team on all system-related issues, communicating with project partners for timely resolutions.
- Support the Senior Manager RMEL as required for the project.
- Perform any other work-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
What are we looking for?
The basics:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in medical or social sciences, and/or Masters degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or any related field is a plus.
- Ideally 1-3 years of experience in M&E; development sector experience is a plus.
- This job may require frequent travel of up to 35-40%.
- Proficiency in the dominant language of the region is a plus.
- Must be attuned to and comfortable with the culture/traditions of the people.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong coordination skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Passionate about working on international health and development, with a focus on reproductive health issues.
- Proven ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines while staying organized and paying attention to details.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis software such as SPSS or Stata.
- Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary and international team.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Initiative and willingness to learn, with skills in knowledge transfer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
