Qualification:

Minimum bachelors degree in engineering or business management.

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in Procurement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading and managing a team.
  • Experience in the mining or industrial sector is highly preferred.
  • Hands- on experience of SAP and Ariba preferable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Commitment to ethical sourcing and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational management of procurement activities at the site, ensuring that daily needs and transactional activities are executed in accordance with company policies and Procurement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee the procurement cycle for site-specific goods and services, including requisition review, supplier selection, purchase order creation, expediting, and invoice processing.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of site procurement operations.
  • Lead and manage a team of site-based Buyers and Expeditors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance to ensure timely and accurate completion of procurement activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Understand and effectively manage the needs and expectations of diverse stakeholders at the site, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with site stakeholders, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders regarding procurement processes, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Be responsible for local community supplier research, evaluation, and sharing findings with the Procurement Lead for shortlisting.
  • Actively engage with local businesses and community suppliers to identify potential sourcing opportunities.
  • Promote and support the development of local suppliers, fostering economic growth within the community.
  • Lead community engagement procurement activities, ensuring that procurement processes are inclusive and support the company's social responsibility goals.
  • Build relationships with community leaders and organizations to understand local needs and priorities.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers for goods and services required at the site.
  • Evaluate new vendors based on criteria such as cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions for the site operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
