- Installation:
- Install new lift systems, escalators, and other related vertical transport equipment according to manufacturers' guidelines and safety standards.
- Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections of lift systems, identifying potential issues or wear and tear.
- Perform routine maintenance on all lift systems, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and fully operational.
- Repairs:
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty lifts, escalators, and other systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair calls, resolving issues as quickly and safely as possible.
- Testing and Compliance:
- Perform tests and checks on lift systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and are compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Complete all required documentation for service visits, repairs, and maintenance.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients and customers, explaining technical issues in a clear and understandable way.
- Provide guidance on safe use of lift systems and offer advice on maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Upgrades and Modernizations:
- Assist with upgrades or modernization projects for older lift systems to improve performance or bring them up to current regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to service outages, breakdowns, and emergency situations in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- A relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering).
