Job summary:
To manage all down the line staff of Engineering and assets with ample emphasis on cranes to achieve objective and maintain at stipulated level in parallel with Operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Head of Engineering
- Maintain Electrical troubleshooting repair and schedule maintenance of STSs, RTGs
- To maintain all equipment in working conditions with maximum operating efficiency and optimizing container handling capacity of STS, RTGs, and mobile equipment.
- Minimize breakdowns and improve equipment productivity.
- To maintain all Engineering Plants / Projects including Cranes, Equipment, Scanner, Simulator in working condition with maximum operating efficiency and optimize container handling capacity to meet KPIs established.
- Reporting to Head of Engineering for any discrepancies of machines performance and improvements
- Coordinate with Terminal Operations for cranes and equipment availability and breakdown issue. Coordinate with Procurement and Store for store inventories, issuance, MRN and part utilization that takes places in corrective manner.
- Participation in budget forecasting and improve by taking adequate cost cutting initiative.
- Direct all Engineering personnel in day-to-day maintenance activities and routine matters.
- Review maintenance procedures and advise for concurrent changes to update and implement.
- To conduct all sorts of audit activities and advise concerned team accordingly.
- To manage and remove gap analysis of audit observations (if any) satisfactorily.
- Directing and Training the Engineering staff involving teaching, demonstrating, and advising users in productive work methods
- Managing the workshop, planning the spares, stores and performing the quality inspection.
- Managing ECR / MPC related activities, reports, EMS and any other reports asked by management.
- Managing Scanner equipment and its operations on smooth way.
- Advise and implement IMS and safety culture in Engineering.
Technical expertise required:
- Hands-on experience with Siemens S7-400 CPUs, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in working with Simovert Master drives, including parameterization, fault finding, and repair.
- Extensive knowledge of FUJI Drives and PLCs, including configuration and maintenance.
- Expertise in ABB Drives and Control systems, including commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with industrial power distribution systems (MV & LV), including transformers and switchgears.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinite, and Ethernet/IP.
- Project management, including planning and execution, Industrial hydraulic system knowledge, including hydraulic schematics interpretation.
- Structural knowledge of heavy equipment and structural drawing interpretation.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical engineering
- At least 10-15 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the terminal or related industry will be ideal
