Job summary:
This person will play a pivotal role to raise capital for developing and investing into renewable energy projects. Responsible to spearhead project finance transactions, build and maintain relationships commercial banks, DFIs, multilateral and bilateral agencies and institutional investors supporting private sector development This position will be heavily focused on Pakistan and South-East Asia.
Key responsibilities:
1. Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of project finance transactions in Pakistan.
2. Support Chief Investment Officer and Regional Director by providing strategic financial advice on project financing, M&A transactions and capital allocation strategies, leveraging your expertise in renewable energy in Pakistan/South East Asia and capital markets trends.
3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with commercial and development banks, institutional investors, private equity firms, venture capital funds, and strategic partners to facilitate capital raising efforts and identify investment opportunities.
4. Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, assess competitive dynamics, and evaluate investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
5. Actively support internal business development, legal and engineering teams on bankability issues related to financial and commercial agreements for projects and transactions.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices, while effectively managing risks associated with project finance transactions.
Qualification requirements:
1. Bachelors or Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets, with a focus on project financing of renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
3. Proven track record of successfully executing Project, Corporate and Capital Market transactions, including financing of Independent Power Producers (IPPs), corporate debt, and private placements, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
4. Experience working with both public and private sector clients, from project development through financial close.
5. Extensive advisory and execution background related to financial structuring, public-private partnerships, deal execution, and commercial due diligence.
6. Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and capital markets dynamics, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
