Quality Assurance Officer
About the job Quality Assurance Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly and quarterly visits to health facilities and communities to assess compliance with DMPA-SC protocols and standards
- Use standardized tools to evaluate counseling quality, injection techniques, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Train healthcare providers, including LHWs and facility-based staff, on quality assurance standards for self-injection services.
- Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to address gaps in skills and knowledge.
- Monitor the safe storage and disposal of used DMPA-SC units and report any compliance issues.
- Recommend actionable solutions to improve service quality and client satisfaction.
- Conduct Client Exit Interviews (CEIs) to gauge satisfaction and address concerns.
- Ensure prompt resolution of service delivery issues and coordinate with stakeholders to address systemic challenges.
- Prepare comprehensive QA visit reports and share findings with the RMEL Lead and implementing partners.
- Document lessons learned and recommend strategies for sustaining quality improvements.
- Collaborate with district health offices and implementing partners to align QA activities with project goals.
- Support the development of QA tools and processes for long-term sustainability
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field; Masters preferred
- Ideally 3 years of experience in quality assurance in healthcare settings; development sector experience is a plus.
- This job may require frequent travel of up to 50%.
- Proficiency in the dominant language of the region is a plus.
- Must be attuned to and comfortable with the culture/traditions of the people.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
