Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of the workplace to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees to ensure adherence to best practices and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, including the handling, disposal, and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct safety drills, including fire, evacuation, and first aid drills.
  • Maintain and update safety records, including accident reports, safety data sheets, and training logs.
  • Work closely with various departments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Ensure the organization is prepared for safety and environmental audits and inspections from regulatory agencies.
  • Respond to environmental emergencies, such as spills or leaks, and coordinate the appropriate response and cleanup.
  • Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure employees are adequately trained in its usage.
  • Ensure that environmental sustainability initiatives are implemented and aligned with company goals.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an HSE Officer or in a similar role, preferably in [industry or field].
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to conduct training and presentations on HSE topics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or other relevant certifications) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science.
  • Experience in [specific industry or field, e.g., construction, manufacturing, energy].
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
