HRSI is looking for HSE Officer for one its leading client.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of the workplace to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees to ensure adherence to best practices and legal requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, including the handling, disposal, and storage of hazardous materials.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct safety drills, including fire, evacuation, and first aid drills.
- Maintain and update safety records, including accident reports, safety data sheets, and training logs.
- Work closely with various departments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure the organization is prepared for safety and environmental audits and inspections from regulatory agencies.
- Respond to environmental emergencies, such as spills or leaks, and coordinate the appropriate response and cleanup.
- Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure employees are adequately trained in its usage.
- Ensure that environmental sustainability initiatives are implemented and aligned with company goals.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as an HSE Officer or in a similar role, preferably in [industry or field].
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to conduct training and presentations on HSE topics.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or other relevant certifications) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science.
- Experience in [specific industry or field, e.g., construction, manufacturing, energy].
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
