Job Summary:
The Sales Officer will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing relationships with clients, and driving revenue growth in the logistics. This role requires a proactive approach to understanding client needs and offering tailored logistics solutions, including air, sea, and land freight services. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in the logistics industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development:
- Identify and target potential clients in need of freight forwarding services.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new clients and grow existing business.
- Research and analyze market trends to identify new sales opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to address any client concerns and offer additional services as needed.
- Sales Planning and Reporting:
- Develop and execute monthly and quarterly sales plans to meet revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client information, and revenue forecasts.
- Quotations and Proposals:
- Prepare and present customized freight solutions to clients, including cost estimates and service packages.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to close sales.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate with finance for invoicing and account management, ensuring all services are billed accurately and on time.
- Market Knowledge and Competitor Analysis:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor services, and pricing to offer competitive solutions.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback and market insights to improve service offerings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in sales within the logistics/freight forwarding industry.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes (air, sea, and land freight).
- Proven track record in meeting sales targets and generating new business.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
