COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Our client, a Karachi-based, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI), seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:

Job Role

As the Manager IT Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the secure, stable, and efficient operation of all technology systems and infrastructure supporting the EMIs digital payment ecosystem. The role oversees data center management, networks, servers, applications, and production systems, ensuring compliance with SBPs regulatory and technology risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • System & Infrastructure Management - Ensure stable, scalable, and secure operation of all production systems (servers, databases, networks, applications). Monitor performance, usage, capacity; plan for upgrades, patching, scalability. Manage day‐to‐day operations: end‐of‐day jobs, batch processing, overnight jobs, backups
  • Operational SLAs, Monitoring & Reporting - Define and monitor operational SLAs (system uptime, incident response, support ticket resolution. Set up robust monitoring tools, dashboards for performance, errors, anomalies. Produce periodic reports to senior management and SBP (where required) on system performance, incidents, compliance status
  • Vendor & Outsourced Services Oversight - Manage vendors / service providers providing infrastructure / cloud / hosting / support. Ensure contracts incorporate SBP compliance requirements (security, data protection, audit, location of data). Monitor vendor performance, SLAs, security
  • Capacity Management & Infrastructure Planning - Forecast capacity needs (storage, processing, network) based on growth. Manage procurement, hardware/software lifecycle. Budgeting and cost control for IT operations
  • Support & Incident Management - Oversee incident detection, classification, resolution, root‐cause analysis. Establish escalation paths. Ensure minimal downtime and customer impact

Education

  • Minimum 16 years of education, preferably a Masters degree in Information Technology, or a related field from an HEC-recognized or equivalent foreign institution.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technology roles, ideally in a tech startup, fintech, or digital-first organization
  • Experience in a bank, EMI, Fintech, or regulated financial institutions and growth functions is preferred

Requirements

  • Collaborative Execution Experience managing multi-stakeholder campaigns, especially in coordination with external partners and retail-facing brands
  • Team Management & Skills - Build, lead, mentor IT operations team. Ensure appropriate qualifications and fit & proper standards for Key Executives (may apply to senior roles in operations). Ensure training, awareness (especially for security, regulatory compliance)
  • Agility & Entrepreneurial Mindset Thrives in a fast-paced startup setting, with a bias toward action and innovation

Age
