We have a career opportunity for a Lead Power Engineer in a Latvian Renewable Energy company with head office in Riga.
Our Partner is a renewable energy international development and investment management group and one of the largest green energy producers in Latvia focusing on solar, wind, small hydropower, energy storages and waste-to-energy technologies with the ever-increasing importance. The Company's development pipeline total installed capacity exceeds 200 MW in Ukraine and more than 50 MW in Latvia during last several years. The team has combined experience in asset management, land development, construction & engineering, operations, management, legal documentation, and financing of renewable energy projects.
We are looking for a skilled engineer who will be responsible for supervision of the technical condition and efficient generation of the Company's PV plants in Latvia and overseeing the activities of the servicing O&M contractor as the Owner's Engineer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Control of the technical status of PV plants (10 PV plants with an O&M contract), supervision of the contractor's O&M (formation and implementation of maintenance plans by the contractor, control of the implementation of current repair work)
- Communication with the maintenance company on all issues arising during the maintenance process as an owner's engineer
- Communicating on behalf of the company on technical issues related to power plants, including complaints
- Cross-functional interaction with team members on technical issues
- Interaction with DSO (Sadales tikls AS)
- Prompt response to breakdowns in case of any malfunctions, control over the repair process by the O&M contractor (with the support of external contractors), minimization of downtime
- Periodic quality control of maintenance / operation of electrical equipment by the O&M contractor
- Control of field tests and inspections
- Formation of monthly reports on performance / production and condition of generating assets to management
- Operational daily / weekly reporting on the technical condition of power plants
Qualifications and professional experience:
- Degree in Energy / Engineering field
- Practical work experience in the renewable energy sector (construction and operation of PV plants) at least 1 year
- Experience in maintenance of high-voltage equipment, in-depth knowledge of the operation of string inverters, PV panels
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical schemes / project documentation / technical specifications
- Work experience with PVSyst (at the design and execution control stage), deep understanding of PVSyst indicators
- Work experience with power plant monitoring systems (SCADA 1st and 2nd level)
- Good command of Ukrainian / Russian and English languages at a sufficient level to communicate on technical issues
