We have a great career opportunity for an ESG Manager in a Ukrainian Renewable Energy company with head office in Kyiv.
With the primary focus on providing dependable clean energy from sustainable renewable sources, our Partners team operates from the offices in Kyiv, London and Odesa, and its expertise spans the management of solar and wind power plants, as well as development and construction of renewable energy projects, in addition to the robust commercial sales of renewable energy on the electricity market. Currently, the total Company's capacity of the solar and wind projects in its ownership and operation is 636 MW, and expanding its presence in the Ukrainian market. Committed to supporting a "green" rebuilding, our Partner actively develops over 200 MW of wind & storage projects and aims to expand to other renewable energy technologies. To support the Company's active growth, we are looking for an experienced specialist who will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Company's ESG strategy. This includes staying up-to-date on relevant regulations and standards, collaborating with stakeholders, conducting audits, managing environmental permits and certifications (including ISO Certification), overseeing pollution control and waste management, interacting with regulatory bodies, managing environmental contractors, and reporting on ESG performance. The role also involves training, ESG budget management, and involvement in sustainability and non-financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Reviews applicable environmental and ESG legislation, relevant international standards and the requirements established by national and international initiatives to which the Company voluntarily adheres, and determines whether they're being applied properly
- Implementation of the ESG strategy. Monitor and report on progress toward achieving ESG and Environmental targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Support the ESG / Environmental budget processes, invoicing, and other administrative responsibilities
- Organize and deliver training programs on ESG / Environmental topics
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment on ESG priorities
- Leads, in accordance with Company's IMS system, the implementation, updating, review and audit of corporate ESG policies and procedures. Conduct ISO internal audits and ensure compliance with the relevant standards
- Leads or supports the preparation and negotiation of various environmental permit applications and certifications (incl. ISO 14001 Certification)
- Takes part in all aspects of pollution control, waste management and energy efficiency, incl. Company's GHG emissions calculation and control
- Interacts with relevant bodies such state and local authorities, regulatory agencies, external auditors, prepares needed documentation, schedules required testing, and provides any necessary additional follow-up documentation
- Coordinates environmental service contractors, negotiates agreements and manages associated costs and revenues (incl. Waste, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Post-project Environmental Monitoring and ESG Reporting)
- Audits, analyses and reports Company's environmental performance to clients and regulatory bodies
- Assists other Company's departments and units in their dealings with contractors in all environmental issues
- Writes environmental reports, contributes to Sustainability / ESG / Non-Financial Report, GRI Report.
Qualifications and professional experience:
- Bachelors or Master`s degree in environmental science
- Proven experience in the relevant field (3+ years of experience)
- Deep knowledge of environmental regulations and ISO 14001:2015 standard
- Knowledge of international ESG frameworks (preferable)
- Experience of calculating carbon emissions using industry standards such as the GHG
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting standards
- Proven ability to work through other functions and personnel to deliver on ESG goals
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, ability to interact at an executive level
- Ukrainian Native, English Intermediate and above
