Job Description:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, being part of a 3-person team to produce, troubleshoot, and assist feeder operator, issuing job stock, preparing loads, assisting the 2nd pressman with hanging plates, mixing ink, keeping ink supplied in fountains, and replacing blankets. Training crew with operations of the press, such as watching for imperfections, smashed blankets, scratches, and keeping the overall work area/press clean and safe for others.

Responsible for being part of a 3-person team to produce, troubleshoot, and maintain state-of-the-art printing equipment. Duties would include assisting the feeder operator, assistant pressman, or pressman with hanging plates, keeping ink supplied in the fountains, replacing blankets, and operating the press to check for imperfections, smashed blankets, scratches, and maintaining a clean and safe work area for others. 2nd shift hours are 2 pm to 10 pm, and 3rd shift hours are 10 pm to 6 am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow instructions given by the Supervisor.

2. Work with a minimum amount of supervision and perform duties assigned to the position A5-L Offset Pressman Lead.

3. Must maintain production standards required by the company in the course of job production. This includes familiarity with all aspects of our Quality Control Program.

4. The A5-L Offset Pressman Lead must be able to register, achieve color standards, and troubleshoot press problems.

5. Understanding interactions with other departments is very important.

6. Understanding of proper die position is crucial.

7. Order inks and other printing supplies from selected vendors.

8. Knowledge of printing supplies.

9. Organization of press crews and floor procedures for scheduling presses.

10. Troubleshooting ability for press-related issues.

11. Scheduling with the Print Dept. Supervisor.

12. Communication with other departments to maintain workflow.

13. Verification of all information listed on the Factory Ticket (FT) before production including load tickets, sheet size, substrate, and caliper. Ensuring proper ink colors and plate sequence on the press. Copy and color checks are performed by the Print Dept. Supervisor before the production run.

14. Mentors Offset Assistant/Feeder Pressman.

15. Must be able to operate Power Industrial Vehicles.

16. Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Requires a High School Diploma or GED

- 5 years of sheet-fed Offset Lithographic printing experience, though consideration will be given to those with less experience or other types of printing experience

- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure in standard and metric

- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, working independently or in a team setting while demonstrating safe work practices

- Must understand the PMS color book

- Ability to learn printing software associated with KBA printing presses

- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products
