Key Responsibilities
Production Management
  • Plan, organize, and oversee all production operations from raw gum intake to finished product (kibbled, powdered, spray-dried).
  • Develop and implement production schedules in line with sales forecasts and procurement cycles.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure optimal efficiency, minimal downtime, and adherence to cost targets.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and safe operation of processing machinery.
Quality Control & Compliance
  • Maintain strict compliance with international quality and safety standards (ISO, HACCP, FSSC 22000, etc.).

  • Implement and monitor robust QC/QA systems to ensure product consistency and customer specifications are met.

  • Conduct routine quality audits and liaise with certification and regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure traceability from raw material sourcing to final packaged product.

Team Leadership & Training
  • Lead and manage production staff, including supervisors, operators, and quality control teams.

  • Provide training on best practices, safety procedures, and quality assurance.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
  • Optimize production processes to reduce waste, enhance yield, and increase throughput.

  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely raw material supply and finished goods dispatch.

  • Monitor production costs and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

  • Prepare regular production and efficiency reports for management review.

Collaboration & Innovation
  • Work closely with R&D teams to trial and scale new processing methods or value-added gum arabic products.

  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to align production capabilities with client requirements.

  • Stay updated on industry innovations, equipment upgrades, and best practices to keep facilities competitive.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years experience in production management, preferably in the natural gums, food processing, nutraceutical, or agro-industrial sector.

  • Strong background in food safety, HACCP implementation, and international quality certifications.

  • Experience in machinery used for grinding, kibbling, powdering, and spray-drying.

  • Familiarity with production planning, lean manufacturing, and ERP/MRP systems.

  • Hands-on experience in African production environments is an advantage.

Working Days: Monday - Saturday
Work Timings: 9 AM - 6 PM
