A state-of-the-art, ISO-certified cardiac hospital providing comprehensive heart care, emergency services, surgery, and rehabilitation with a strong focus on quality, safety, and excellence.

Job Brief / Purpose

To oversee and direct the Quality Assurance & Patient Safety (QPS) department, ensuring compliance, strategic development, continuous improvement, and the implementation of international accreditation standards for quality and safety in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee QPS operations, staff supervision, and budget.
  • Coordinate with IT and Health Information Management for quality and safety goals.
  • Collaborate with Competent Authority and physicians to develop and implement hospital-wide quality and patient safety plans.
  • Lead strategic plans and policies for continuous quality improvement.
  • Mentor department employees and other staff in quality and safety practices.
  • Manage quality management activities including JCI, CAP accreditation, ISO certification, risk management, clinical audits, and performance improvement.
  • Establish quality measurement and improvement systems.
  • Govern reporting of adverse and sentinel events, ensuring corrective action.
  • Implement staff training programs (FOCUS PDCA, RCA, FMEA, safety culture).
  • Conduct hospital-wide training and awareness sessions on quality and safety.
  • Maintain dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Develop hospital-wide quality management systems.
  • Supervise patient feedback mechanisms.
  • Promote a culture of safety, reliability, engagement, and excellence.
  • Liaise with external agencies and clients on behalf of the hospital.
  • Report regularly to Competent Authority on QA processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Hospital Director/Competent Authority.

Job Specifications

  • Qualification & Experience:
  • Masters degree in Quality Management, Hospital Management, or Healthcare Management (HEC recognized).
  • Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in quality management and patient safety in a hospital (preferably JCI accredited).
  • At least 5 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
