Role Overview – Research Analyst

We are seeking a motivated Research Analyst to support our brokerage operations on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). The role focuses on equity research, sector analysis, and market intelligence to assist brokers, dealers, and clients in making informed investment decisions in compliance with SECP regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental and basic technical analysis of PSX-listed companies
• Track and analyze KSE-100, KSE-30, and sector indices
• Prepare equity research reports, stock notes, and investment recommendations
• Analyze financial statements in line with local accounting standards
• Build and maintain valuation models (DCF, P/E, PEG, sector multiples)
• Monitor PSX announcements, results, dividends, bonus issues, and right issues
• Track macroeconomic indicators (SBP policy rate, inflation, PKR trends)
• Support brokers, dealers, and relationship managers with timely market insights
• Ensure research complies with SECP, PSX, and internal compliance guidelines
• Maintain company and sector databases for ongoing coverage

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
• Strong understanding of Pakistan's capital markets and PSX structure
• Knowledge of financial ratios, valuation techniques, and equity research basics
• Proficiency in MS Excel (financial modelling & analysis)
• Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills
• Ability to interpret economic and corporate data

Preferred / Added Advantage

• Experience in a PSX-registered brokerage house
• Familiarity with SECP regulations, PSX rules, and compliance requirements
• Knowledge of PSX trading systems and research tools
• Certification such as CFA (Level I / pursuing) or Islamic finance knowledge
