KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- System Architecture & API Design: Design and implement scalable and maintainable backend systems and RESTful APIs using frameworks like Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) or NodeJS or .NET Core.
- Database Design & Optimization: Develop and maintain data models, write efficient SQL/ORM queries, and optimize database performance (PostgreSQL or MySQL or MongoDB, etc.).
- Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code. Apply best practices including unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- Security & Performance: Ensure secure coding practices, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and backend performance tuning.
- Collaboration & Mentoring: Work with frontend developers, DevOps, and QA to deliver integrated solutions. Mentor junior developers and lead by example.
- Version Control & Documentation: Use Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab for source control and maintain clear backend documentation.
- System Integration: Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems, services, or internal microservices.
Job Role Secondary:
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Monitoring & Logging: Set up and monitor server logs, application performance, and error tracking tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Datadog, Sentry).
- Prototyping & Research: Occasionally build proof-of-concepts or evaluate new backend technologies to improve system capabilities.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with backend trends, security standards, and new frameworks or architectures (e.g., serverless, microservices).
- Experience working in microservices or event-driven architecture.
- Basic Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, or message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Basic DevOps skills: CI/CD, Docker Compose, NGINX, reverse proxies.
- Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached).
