Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Electro Mechanical Technician with specialization in chillers, electro-mechanical systems, and BMS/control programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems including large tonnage chillers, air handling units, VAVs, cold room chiller units and related control systems. Experience in programming or configuring BMS or PLCs is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and maintain chiller systems (air-cooled and water-cooled, and cold storage equipment. ETC).
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on electrical components such as motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, and control panels.
  • Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems (BMS, PLCs, or DDC systems and ETC).
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain logs and documentation of work performed and system status.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and HVAC codes.

  • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate HVAC systems with automated control platforms.
  • Provide technical support during system upgrades and retrofits

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Technical Certification in HVAC, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in HVAC systems with a focus on chillers and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of chiller control panels, electrical circuits, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or BMS systems (such as Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, or Trane, York, Gree, Daikin, Carrier).
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools like multimeters, clamp meters, and field programming devices.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC sequence of operations and electrical safety procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and control schematics.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) integration.

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of PLC ladder logic or DDC programming.

  • Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC operation and sustainability practices.

Work Environment:

  • This role involves working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occasionally at heights.
  • May require working in varying temperature conditions.

  • On-call availability for emergency maintenance or troubleshooting.

  • Willingness to travel or be on-call, if required.
