Client Company Introduction:
An international Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) consultancy headquartered in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), with offices across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, Portugal, Pakistan, and South Africa.
Role Purpose:
The Senior Accountant / Group Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the Group's internal financial records, reporting, reconciliations, and accounting operations across multiple entities. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the role plays a critical part in supporting strategic financial decision-making by ensuring complete and audit-ready accounting information at all times.
This position works closely with the Group Management Accountant and wider finance team to manage transactional accounting activities, month-end close processes, reconciliations, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting schedules across the Group's international operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, technically strong in IFRS and bookkeeping practices, and capable of operating effectively within a fast-paced, multi-entity professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and general ledgers for the Pakistan office and assigned Group entities.
- Process day-to-day accounting transactions, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjustments accurately and on time.
- Prepare and issue intercompany invoices and internal billing statements with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Review and process supplier invoices, payment vouchers, and accounts payable transactions.
- Maintain petty cash records and review expense vouchers for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register, including depreciation, additions, transfers, and disposals.
- Ensure all bookkeeping records remain accurate, complete, and up to date at all times.
Month-End Closing & Financial Reporting
- Lead and manage the monthly book close process within agreed timelines.
- Prepare trial balances, supporting schedules, and reconciliations for management reporting purposes.
- Process and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting working papers.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including income statements and balance sheets for CFO review.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and complete financial information to the CFO and Group Finance team.
- Proactively follow up with internal stakeholders to obtain missing financial information and supporting documents.
Reconciliation & Audit Support:
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances, and corporate credit card statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Prepare audit-ready schedules, ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support internal and external audit processes by responding to auditor queries and ensuring timely submission of required information.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and financial control across all accounting records.
Regulatory & Compliance Support:
- Assist with preparation and submission of VAT returns, sales tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and business information.
- Support implementation and monitoring of accounting policies and compliance procedures across the Group.
Internal Finance Support & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate effectively with internal finance colleagues, department heads, auditors, and external advisors.
- Provide regular updates to the CFO regarding financial status, outstanding deliverables, and operational issues.
- Build strong working relationships across multiple offices and business units within the Group.
- Support process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies within finance operations.
Success Measures:
Success in this role will be measured through:
- Accurate and timely maintenance of financial records and ledgers.
- Timely completion of month-end close activities with zero material reconciliation discrepancies.
- Delivery of complete and accurate financial reporting packs within agreed deadlines.
- Audit-ready accounting records with positive audit outcomes and minimal observations.
- Strong responsiveness to finance queries and effective stakeholder collaboration.
- Continuous improvement in accounting workflows, controls, and system efficiencies.
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent.
- Experience with VAT, sales tax, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Education & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- ACCA, CIMA, or CA qualification required or actively pursuing completion.
- Master's degree is advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Prior experience within a professional services, consultancy, or multi-entity organisation preferred.
- Experience supporting CFOs or Group Finance functions is highly desirable.
- Big Four or top-tier professional services experience will be considered an advantage.
- Experience working in an internationally operating organisation is preferred.
