Job description:
The purpose of a head of infra job role is to oversee the design, implementation of IT infrastructure that supports the business needs and technology goals of AGI. He will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of the IT systems and services, as well as managing the IT infrastructure budget, resources, and staff. He will also collaborate with other IT and business leaders to align the IT infrastructure strategy and roadmap with the organizational vision and objectives. With strong background and expertise in IT infrastructure management, as well as leadership, communication, and project management skills, and work towards optimising the infra cost, with close collaboration with AGI Procurement team.

  • Effectively monitoring Capacity & resource Management, with a view of identifying optimization opportunities. 
  • Effectively tracking , reporting and closure of RCA & RCSAs across Infrastructure & End user support. 
  • Play an active role in Infrastructure Budget, including Capex & Opex planning and budgeting exercise, and tracking utilization and payments. 
  • Lead a portfolio of Infrastructure and Service Improvement projects, managing resourcing, timelines, budgets, and quality of deliverables in conjunction with PMO and Information security. 
  • Support the delivery of projects by taking responsibility for infrastructure delivery and service integration of projects in conjunction with IT BPs and PMO. 
  • Lead IT Service Management by establishing leading practises for incident, problem, change and capacity management and service reporting in line with international IT standards. 
  • Manage the establishment and continuous improvement of IT service levels that are aligned to business priorities. 
  • Manage communication of service delivery status and improvement plans. 
  • Systems Patch management is as per standards and compliance at all given point of time. 
  • Network & wifi connectivity is supported and uptime is maintained across all Business units and critical services with communication services cost optimization. 
  • End user support , connectivity, data centre management and infra management, end user assets, laptop, printers, communication and links management , inventory control and management 
  • Planning Business Continuity and DR approaches and orchestration and tools with Infrastructure team 
  • Maintaining Cloud, Production & DR datacentre sites to agreed service levels & ITIL standards and deliver end user services aligned to SLA with continuous improvement objective. 
  • Lead formulation of IT Service continuity and disaster recovery strategy formulation for the Group in conjunction with {vertical] IT BPs and the Business. 
  • Implement strategy and conduct annual disaster recovery drills. 
  • Effectively manage Data backup , retention , archival and restoration as per defined policies and ensure data is maintained and secured and available on demand 
  • Internal controls and Audits across all IT processes score satisfactory ratings and drive IT Audit action plan tracking and closure. 
  • Identify and manage key IT risks. 
  • Ensure compliance with IT Policies and Standards; and Security Standards 
  • Infrastructure & software licenses utilization and management (e.g., - Microsoft O365)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Key accountabilities are areas of responsibility that are essential of the position.

STRATEGIC

Overall responsibility of defining Infrastructure support & Maintenance strategy in alignment with business objectives and

ensuring that Infrastructure & and end user services are kept UpToDate support and achieve business goals.

· Develop Group Infrastructure, Technology, Service Management Strategies supported by delivery roadmaps and sourcing

strategies to reduce cost, support the expansion, growth and performance of the Group.

· Modernize the Al-Ghurair Group infrastructure in line with leading, proven practices and IT Standards.

· Contribute to the development of the Group IT Strategy that supports the expansion, development, growth and performance of the Group businesses.

· Improve and maintain SLAs

OPERATIONAL

Depending on the Position Level Responsibilities that entail the delivery of operational day-to-day activities and tasks

    Define, Measure, control Improve on IT service management frameworks and reporting mechanisms across the IT organization.

    · Ensure that all Infrastructure projects and supporting projects within the organization are delivered on time, within budget, and

    to the desired quality standards as per business requirement.

    · Define and align to processes that enables Infrastructure.

    · He/she will ensure timely implementation of IT initiatives by effective tracking, reporting of SLA for Infrastructure, Cloud & end

    user services Incident & Service requests

    · Ensuring that processes are followed and timely reporting of Incidents, Problems and Service request management

    · Establishing, Documenting, updating, maintaining, and tracking of all Infrastructure Polices, procedures and process documents.

    · Establishing Metrics & KPI reporting and tracking for continuous improvement for all Infrastructure and end users support services

    · Managing Tracking, maintaining and repairing of IT Assets Licenses, and support renewal to avoid non-compliance.

    · Design effective controls, and effective Asset life cycle management for Servers and end user assets.

    · Vendor SLA Management to ensure smooth delivery of services and support across OEMS and other vendors.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Depending on the Position Level Responsibilities that pertain to positions which have a supervisory role to play

    Engage and maintain relationships with key stake holders - external partners, team members, contractors, and business.

    · Working closely with IT Heads, BPs and internal stakeholders in supporting and delivering Infrastructure and end user support

    services.

    · Leadership & Team Management

    · Build a lean, skilled and fully engaged team.

    · Develop team in line with target competencies and ensure staff has backup/cross skilling available for all key positions.

    · Talent retention, training , upskilling and cross skilling plans of the individuals are tracked and maintained

    · Establish and manage relationships with key vendors. Build industry relationships to stay abreast of latest technology developments,

    innovation and business direction

PRODUCT / PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

Depending on the Position Level - Responsibilities that pertain to a proactive role in identifying and improving existing business processes or products

Identify opportunities to improve performance against all operational metrics, SLAs, Uptime, RTO, RPO and initiatives to optimize

resources/enhance delivery

· Track Continuous improvement of processes and initiatives.

· Support and maintain governance structures across Infrastructure.

· Monitoring and reporting compliance, risk, and audit across IT.

· Ensure compliance with IT Policies, Security Standards and strengthen internal controls.

· Incident reporting / escalation management process

· Change Go live and deployment processes are tracked and maintained. · Escalation & follow up with ISP;s on service availability.

COMMUNICATION

The contact groups represent the functions or entities, both internal and external to Al Ghurair, which the position regularly interacts with

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Degree in Computer Science/IT; Preferably Management Training (MBA, etc.)

Minimum Experience and Knowledge: 15 years IT Infrastructure, Service and Procurement experience; 3-5 years

management experience

Certifications:

o Microsoft technologies

o Data Center Certifications

o Network certifications

o AWS / Azure

o Storage Certifications ( HP & Dell)

Cloud computing, Infrastructure,, Microsoft, Network Management, Communication links & Collaboration technology,

information and cyber security

EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or masters degree in computer science
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

· Experience across IT Infrastructure management in retail or competitive industry.

· Experience in Cloud Hosted Environment Management across Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (utilization, & billing)

· Experience in Network Management for enterprise (Cisco Core devices, Wifi Setup and ISP services)

· Collaboration approach
