DevOps Engineer - Onsite - Karachi

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on microservices and serverless architectures using AWS Lambda. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless deployment, high availability, and the robust performance of our cloud-native applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deployment: Architect and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems using AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Prior Development experience is must.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Build, maintain, and optimize robust Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for microservices using tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to ensure consistent and reproducible environments.
- Monitoring and Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Grafana, or Prometheus to ensure system health and performance of distributed microservices.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate routine operational tasks and streamline development workflows.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security best practices, including IAM roles, security groups, and encryption (AWS KMS), to secure cloud resources and data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software development, QA, and operations teams to troubleshoot production issues, define requirements, and foster a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role with a focus on AWS.
- AWS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of core AWS services, specifically AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, ECS/Fargate, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Architecture Knowledge: Strong understanding of microservices-based architectures and server less computing principles.
- Containerization: Experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS) or Amazon ECS.
- IAC Tools: Proficiency in using Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation.
- Programming/Scripting: Strong skills in at least one high-level programming or scripting language (Python, Node.js, or Go preferred).
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex, distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- An AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience with advanced security practices and vulnerability remediation.
- Programming experience is must
