We're hiring an EDTECH & AI MANAGER - Karachi (Onsite)

Position Overview

Out client is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking EdTech & AI Manager to lead the integration of Artificial Intelligence, educational technology and digital innovation across the organisation. 

This is not a conventional IT position. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of education, artificial intelligence, technology and institutional transformation.

The individual will be responsible for identifying how technology can improve teaching, learning, assessment, teacher productivity and school operations, while simultaneously developing a structured EdTech, AI & Future Skills programme for students.

The objective is to help transform HPGS into a more technology-enabled, innovative and future-ready educational institution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. AI & Digital Transformation - Develop and implement an organisation-wide AI & EdTech Transformation Roadmap.- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing academic and administrative systems.- Identify processes that can be improved, simplified or automated through technology.- Introduce practical AI solutions that improve organisational efficiency and decision-making.- Research emerging AI and EdTech developments and evaluate their relevance to HPGS.- Lead pilot projects before recommending organisation-wide implementation.- Present technology recommendations and transformation initiatives to senior management.- Establish measurable outcomes for major digital-transformation initiatives.

2. Teaching & Learning Transformation - Work closely with academic leadership to meaningfully integrate technology and AI into teaching and learning.- Help teachers utilise AI for lesson planning, differentiation, resource development, assessments and feedback.- Introduce digital tools that support personalised and differentiated learning.- Develop innovative technology-enhanced classroom experiences.- Identify opportunities where technology can improve student engagement and learning outcomes.- Ensure technology complements strong teaching practices rather than replacing them.- Support academic departments in redesigning traditional practices where technology can produce better outcomes.

3. EdTech, AI & Future Skills Curriculum - A major responsibility of this position will be to design, develop and continuously enhance an original EdTech, AI & Future Skills Programme.

The Manager will: - Develop a progressive, age-appropriate curriculum across designated year groups.- Establish clear learning outcomes and competencies for each stage.- Develop lesson plans, teacher guides, student activities, assessments and digital resources.- Ensure the programme moves beyond conventional computer studies towards practical application of contemporary technologies.

The curriculum may include: - Digital literacy- Artificial Intelligence fundamentals- Generative AI- Effective prompting and human-AI collaboration- Computational thinking- Coding and logical reasoning- Robotics- Automation- Data literacy- Digital creativity and design- Virtual and Augmented Reality- Emerging technologies- Research using AI- Problem-solving with technology- AI ethics- Digital citizenship- Cyber awareness and online safety- Privacy and responsible data use- Misinformation and critical evaluation of digital information- Academic integrity and responsible AI use

The programme should increasingly become project-based, allowing students to use technology to research, design, create and solve authentic problems.

4. Student Innovation & Technology Culture - Establish opportunities for students to practically apply their technological knowledge.- Develop AI challenges, innovation competitions, hackathons, exhibitions and technology showcases.- Encourage interdisciplinary projects combining technology with science, mathematics, business, humanities, arts and other subjects.- Identify talented students and provide opportunities for advanced learning and external competitions.- Explore partnerships with universities, technology companies, startups and relevant educational organisations.- Work towards establishing our client as a school recognised for AI literacy, innovation and future-ready education.

5. Teacher AI Enablement & Professional Development: The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that technology transformation extends to the teaching workforce.

Responsibilities include: - Develop structured AI and EdTech professional-development programmes for teachers.- Conduct practical workshops demonstrating how AI can improve teaching effectiveness.- Train teachers in responsible use of generative AI.- Help teachers utilise technology for lesson planning, differentiation, assessment creation, feedback and resource development.- Develop internal guides, templates and best-practice resources.- Identify and train selected teachers as EdTech/AI Champions.- Establish a train-the-trainer model to support implementation across multiple campuses.- Monitor teacher adoption and provide ongoing support where required.

6. Automation & Institutional Efficiency - Identify opportunities where AI and automation can reduce repetitive administrative work and improve organisational efficiency. This may include: - Admissions and enquiry management- Parent communication- Student reporting- Examination and assessment processes- Student performance analysis- Teacher planning and documentation- HR and recruitment processes- Scheduling- Data collection- Management reporting- Internal communication- Academic documentation- Routine administrative workflows. The objective should be to reduce unnecessary manual work while improving accuracy, speed and institutional intelligence.

7. EdTech Evaluation & Implementation - Evaluate Learning Management Systems, educational applications, AI platforms and productivity tools.- Conduct cost-benefit analyses before recommending major technology investments.- Coordinate implementation of approved platforms with academic and IT teams.- Ensure technology procurement is based on genuine educational or operational requirements.- Monitor adoption and utilisation of implemented technologies.- Review existing subscriptions and platforms to identify duplication or underutilisation.- Develop mechanisms for measuring the educational and financial impact of technology investments.

8. AI Governance, Safety & Academic Integrity - Develop an institutional HPGS AI Usage Policy for students and employees.- Establish guidelines regarding AI-generated assignments, plagiarism and academic integrity.- Develop age-appropriate parameters regarding student access to AI platforms.- Promote ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence.- Ensure appropriate consideration of student privacy and institutional data when using third-party platforms.- Educate students and teachers about misinformation, AI bias, hallucinations and limitations of AI-generated information.- Work with academic leadership to continuously update policies as technologies evolve.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Performance should be measured through tangible outcomes, including: 

  • Development and implementation of the EdTech, AI & Future Skills Curriculum- Successful pilot and subsequent expansion of the programme-

FIRST 90-DAY EXPECTATIONS: During the first three months, the EdTech & AI Manager should:

  • 1. Conduct an organisation-wide EdTech and AI audit.
  • 2. Review existing technology, platforms and digital practices.
  • 3. Meet academic and administrative stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and opportunities.
  • 4. Assess current teacher technology competency.
  • 5. Identify immediate opportunities for AI-enabled productivity improvements.
  • 6. Develop an initial AI & Digital Transformation Roadmap.
  • 7. Present the proposed framework for the EdTech, AI & Future Skills Curriculum.
  • 8. Identify several high-impact projects that can be piloted immediately.

FIRST-YEAR MANDATE: Within the first year, the successful candidate should aim to:

  • Establish an organisation-wide AI & Digital Transformation Strategy.
  • Develop, pilot and begin implementing the EdTech, AI & Future Skills Curriculum.
  • Establish an AI Usage & Academic Integrity Policy.- 
  • Train teachers and academic leaders in practical AI applications.- 
  • Establish EdTech/AI Champions across selected campuses.- 
  • Implement measurable automation projects within academic and administrative departments.-
  • Introduce student AI projects, exhibitions and competitions.- 
  • Evaluate and rationalise existing educational technology platforms.- 
  • Establish measurable technology-adoption KPIs.- 
  • Present management with a 2–3 year roadmap for AI, EdTech and digital transformation at school.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Educational Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Education, Digital Learning, Instructional Design or a related field.- 
  • Preferably 3–6+ years of relevant professional experience.- 
  • Demonstrable experience implementing technology within an educational environment is highly desirable.- 
  • Strong understanding of generative AI and contemporary educational technologies.- 
  • Experience developing curricula, educational programmes or technology-based learning modules would be strongly preferred.- 
  • Experience training teachers or other non-technical professionals.- 
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, AI platforms, automation tools and digital productivity systems.- 
  • Strong project-management and implementation capabilities.- 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and training skills.- 
  • Ability to translate complex technology into practical solutions that teachers and students can understand.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

We are not simply looking for an IT professional, software developer or computer teacher. We are seeking an educational technology innovator and AI enabler who understands how educational institutions operate and can identify how emerging technologies can meaningfully improve them.

The successful candidate should be equally comfortable training a classroom teacher, developing a student AI module, evaluating a new technology platform, presenting a transformation strategy to senior management and implementing an automation project.

They should possess the curiosity to continually ask: Can technology help us teach this better, learn this better or operate this more effectively?

More importantly, they must possess the execution capability to transform an idea from:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The purpose of the EdTech & AI Manager is not to introduce technology merely for the sake of appearing technologically advanced.

The objective is to use technology intelligently to make teachers more effective, students more capable, learning more engaging, systems more efficient and HPGS better prepared for the future of education.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday (Alternate Saturdays off)
