Key Responsibilities

Lead Qualification & Pipeline Management

  • Respond to all inbound inquiries promptly across the Shopify App Store, LinkedIn, website, and social media channels — speed to lead is a competitive advantage.
  • Qualify inbound prospects using defined criteria, understanding their current retention challenges, platform setup, and revenue potential.
  • Maintain a clean and up-to-date CRM pipeline, ensuring every lead is accurately tracked from first contact to close.
  • Prioritize and manage a high volume of leads simultaneously without letting any opportunity go cold.

Product Demos & Closing

  • Run tailored, consultative product demos that connect Mergn's capabilities directly to the prospect's business goals and customer retention challenges.
  • Handle objections with confidence and clarity — on pricing, product fit, competitor comparisons, and ROI concerns.
  • Own the deal from demo to signed contract, negotiating terms where appropriate and ensuring a smooth handoff to the Customer Success team post-close.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly revenue targets, with full accountability for your pipeline conversion rate.

Market Intelligence & Feedback Loop

  • Gather and document insights from prospect conversations — common objections, competitor mentions, feature gaps — and share them with Product and leadership regularly.
  • Stay up to date on Mergn's product updates and new features so every demo reflects the latest platform capabilities.
  • Identify patterns in inbound lead quality and channel performance, and make recommendations to improve lead generation and conversion.

Reporting & Accountability

  • Report weekly on pipeline status, lead volume, conversion rates, and revenue closed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions and deal stages in the CRM.
  • Participate in fortnightly catch-up sessions with leadership to review pipeline health and surface blockers.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in a sales role, ideally in SaaS, MarTech, or e-commerce technology.
  • Proven track record of owning the full sales cycle — qualification, demo, negotiation, and close.
  • Experience selling to e-commerce or Shopify brands is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) for pipeline management.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, customer retention, or marketing automation concepts.
  • Comfortable with high-volume inbound environments and multiple concurrent deals.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communicator — clear, confident, and persuasive in both written and verbal interactions.
  • Hunter mentality with a consultative approach: you sell by helping prospects understand value, not by pushing.
  • Highly self-motivated and target-driven with a strong personal sense of accountability.
  • Organized and disciplined in managing a pipeline — you follow up relentlessly without being pushy.
  • Collaborative with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure a seamless client experience from sale to onboarding.

Education

  • BBA, BS in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Sales certifications or training programs (e.g. HubSpot Sales, Sandler, SPIN Selling) are a plus.
