The Opportunity:

  • Uncompromised Safety - Communicate and advocate 100% Uncompromised Safety expectations and requirements.
  • Acquire plans, read specifications, and prepare estimates.
    Research the cost of materials, transport, labor, and equipment.
  • Secure quotes from vendors and the Purchasing Department for required materials.
  • Evaluate schedules, workloads, weather, manpower availability, and their impact on potential projects being estimated.
  • Assess the risk levels associated with each project.
    Coordinate with other departments as needed.
  • Organize and prepare scope of work description and price proposals or bids.
  • Participate in estimate reviews with other estimators prior to submission.
  • Prepare project budgets once the project is awarded.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings for awarded projects.
  • Travel to assigned projects as needed to gain a better understanding of work progress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 10 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Extensive knowledge of the electrical industry, electrical materials, and construction methods, including requirements for different construction types.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including client companies, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Proficiency with Estimating Systems (McCormick preferred).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, MS Project, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain bid/estimate log systems.
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Drivers License.
