The Opportunity:
- Uncompromised Safety - Communicate and advocate 100% Uncompromised Safety expectations and requirements.
- Acquire plans, read specifications, and prepare estimates.
Research the cost of materials, transport, labor, and equipment. - Secure quotes from vendors and the Purchasing Department for required materials.
- Evaluate schedules, workloads, weather, manpower availability, and their impact on potential projects being estimated.
- Assess the risk levels associated with each project.
Coordinate with other departments as needed. - Organize and prepare scope of work description and price proposals or bids.
- Participate in estimate reviews with other estimators prior to submission.
- Prepare project budgets once the project is awarded.
- Participate in project handoff meetings for awarded projects.
- Travel to assigned projects as needed to gain a better understanding of work progress.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 10 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Estimator.
- Extensive knowledge of the electrical industry, electrical materials, and construction methods, including requirements for different construction types.
- Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code.
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including client companies, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
- Proficiency with Estimating Systems (McCormick preferred).
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, MS Project, etc.).
- Ability to maintain bid/estimate log systems.
- Positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Current Drivers License.
