The Opportunity:

The Structural Project Manager / Senior Structural Project Engineers main job responsibility includes delivering assigned projects on time and within budget. The individual is required to work on multiple assignments with overlapping schedules and needs to be able to multi-task to accomplish all tasks. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Supervisory Responsibilities: Delegate work and assignments to teammates as needed.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering tasks under minimal supervision, and solve engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education.
  • Master concepts of the company's standards and design practices and is expected to assist in the development of Project Engineers.
  • Master design and drafting software to create engineering documents.
  • Attend site visits prior to beginning design and through construction completion
  • The ability to prepare a full set of construction documents for supervisor to review, with limited supervision.
  • Attend client meetings for assigned projects and develop relationships with the clients and design team.
  • Attend review meetings with clients, consultants and/or city staff and become familiar with plan coordination process.
  • Prepare and/or modify technical reports and specifications.
  • Establish themselves as a leader within the team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to teach and train other staff members
  • Strong Communication skills, both in person and in writing
  • Strong Comprehension skills, both in person and writing
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil, Architectural, or other related engineering field required
  • PE License
  • Experience with Master Design and drafting software
  • A general knowledge of code and permitting requirements for projects

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Occasional travel to project sites with potential exposure to uneven terrain and hot and cold weather
