Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a large, diverse engineering team, establishing a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and support senior developers, fostering their professional growth and aligning team performance with company goals.
- Define and drive the technical vision, long-term strategy, and roadmaps for our software architecture.
- Champion innovation and influence technical decisions that align with the companys growth and mission.
- Develop and implement engineering processes that scale effectively to support a high-performing engineering team.
- Establish best practices and operational guidelines to ensure productivity, quality, and accountability.
- Oversee the end-to-end system development life-cycle, from requirements gathering through deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company standards.
- Shape and implement an integrated, scalable web architecture that supports company growth.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and make strategic decisions on technology investments, particularly in open-source stacks like Python, PHP, and other web technologies.
- Ensure that all software deployments meet performance, security, and quality standards.
- Maintain oversight of the platforms stability and take ownership of feature deployment and technical performance metrics.
- Partner closely with Product, Sales, and Client Success teams to align engineering efforts with business priorities.
- Support the Sales team by participating in demos and addressing technical needs during client interactions.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement in code quality, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Encourage the adoption of open-source technologies that align with business objectives and drive innovation.
- Oversee the planning, management, and execution of development projects, with a focus on scope management, issue and risk management, and alignment with delivery timelines.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in architectural design and development for large-scale.
- Highly reliable, and highly available applications, with a proven track record of success in engineering leadership roles
- Strong, demonstrable experience in leading large engineering teams, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-caliber technical talent.
- Extensive experience with open-source technologies, particularly in web development stacks like Python, PHP, JavaScript, or .NET, and familiarity with agile development practices.
- Proven record in the timely delivery of complex projects, managing large-scale engineering processes, and handling the technical demands of various software business models.
- Deep knowledge of engineering processes that support large-scale team operations, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and best practices in quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a strategic approach to conflict resolution, collaboration, and decision-making.
