About the job Chief Compliance Officer
Position Detail:
The ideal candidate will lead the implementation and updating of the firms compliance program, including risk identification and mitigation policies and procedures.
The Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and maintaining a robust corporate compliance program, including the Code of Conduct and all necessary policies, programs, and training covering the senior management and employees.
- Providing compliance advice and oversight for the Group business, including acquisitions, expansions, green field projects, and business activities in foreign countries.
- Developing strong relationships with legal, financial compliance and internal audit functions, in order to ensure that appropriate compliance programs and controls are in place to mitigate the risk of compliance failure such as the violation of anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws, OFAC, and other global regulations.
The main objective of the CCO will be to continually maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls that are comprehensive, robust, current, and reflect the Groups business processes and goals.
Requirement of the role:
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in the compliance field.
- Knowledge of FCPA, UK Bribery Act, and other anti-corruption laws in Asia, as well as familiarity with sanctions and competition law.
- Experience working in markets in Asia on compliance issues.
- Law degree strongly preferred.
- Takes a hands-on approach; has the ability to direct change while maintaining operating effectiveness; integrates and aligns efforts across units and functions; monitors results; and tackles problems directly and with dispatch.
- Highly pragmatic; develops a deep working knowledge of the operational constraints faced by the business in order to implement programs that support and promote the business objectives.
- Leads by example in setting a positive tone for the compliance functions.
- Demonstrates a collaborative style and the ability to function as a business partner, not just a compliance officer; works closely with senior management to help them achieve their goals.
- Excellent communicator in both the written and oral form, especially with regard to communicating highly technical and highly nuanced information and concepts to disparate audiences.
- Understands how to approach communication from a strategic perspective; creates clear, convincing, and well-organized presentations and communications.
