About our client:

Our client is a leading private equity & family office with sizable commercial business coverage.

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join the legal team and provide expert advice and support to the Privacy Equity, and Corporate Commercial business units.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with privacy laws, facilitating equity transactions, and providing legal guidance on corporate commercial matters.

The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for:

  1. Provide legal counsel and guidance to the Privacy Equity, and Corporate Commercial business units.
  2. Stay up-to-date with relevant privacy laws and regulations and ensure compliance across the organization.
  3. Review and draft privacy policies, terms of use, data processing agreements, and other privacy-related documents.
  4. Assist in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing equity-related agreements, such as investment agreements, shareholders' agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  5. Conduct legal research and analysis on corporate commercial matters, including contract law, intellectual property, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  6. Manage external legal counsel, ensuring the quality and timeliness of their work.
  7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams, to ensure legal compliance and minimize risks.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong, at least 8 years post-qualification professional experience with a reputable law firm or listed company in-house legal department.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working in a global organization or privacy equity firm with international clients is preferred.
