About the job Junior Accountant
Job Purpose:
The Junior Accountant is responsible in managing financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute day-to-day bookkeeping activities financial transactions and ensure accurate recording.
- Prepare and analyze management accounts to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Posting monthly invoices /Bank entries in the accounting software.
- Bank, Account Payable and Accounts Receivables reconciliation.
- UAE VAT knowledge and filing returns.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales/purchase and accounting related activities to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Work closely with the Managers during the time of external audits.
- Recording financial transactions accurately and timely in accounting software system.
- Compiling financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows statements.
- Analyzing financial data to provide insight into the financial health of the organization and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns for organizations.
- Assisting internal or external audits to ensure financial records are accurate and in compliance with regulations.
- Preparing various financial reports for management, stakeholders, or government agencies.
- Establishing and maintaining financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Stay up-to date with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry need.
- Provide general admin support.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
- Relevant accounting certification will be preferred
Experience:
- Proven experience of 1 years as an Junior accountant, ideally in a fast-moving customer facing environment such as retail, F&B, trade, services.
- Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- SAP knowledge and Arabic speaker is a plus
