Position: Small animal Veterinary Surgeon (Hospital site)

Location: North Oxford (Cotswolds area)

Salary: £42,000 - £65,000

Site: based at their Hospital site, where you'll have a mix of consults, ops, and hospital shifts, as well as a regular, sole charge slot at your local branch.

  • They consider all working patterns (full-time, part-time, weekend-only, annualised hours, branch work only, etc.).
  • Standard pattern: 4 weekdays (8 am till 6.30 pm) plus OOH participation.
  • Locations: Busy first opinion practice and/or sole charge branch work.
  • OOH: 1:6 weekends and occasional nights (with a day off in recompense).

The rotas are designed for realism, with 15-minute consults (increased for complex cases) and regular administrative breaks. You can rest easy knowing their in-house Night/OOH Vet and Nursing Team take over after your shift, providing care throughout the night.

Essentials:

  • Minimum 1 year of UK experience in a similar Small Animal Vet role.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license and have your own transport.
  • Be a team player with high clinical aspirations.

Small Animal Clinical Team:

  • 15 Vets, including 4 at Senior/Director level.
  • 13 RVNs, including a Head/Senior Nurse & 13 Nurse Assistants/Students.
  • Fully staffed in-house laboratory available at all times.
  • Small Animal Veterinary Coordinator available 5 days a week for admin and referral support.
