The position is a part of the rebranding Hotels

Job Summary

This role is to ensure the implementation of the hotels brand service strategy and brand initiatives in order to meet or exceed the guest expectations. Building and managing relationships with key customers, local community and stakeholders. The person in this role will function as the main strategic business leader of the hotel by overseeing and being responsible of all aspects of the hotel operation, including managing general hotel performance, managing and sustaining sales and marketing strategy, managing profitability and revenue generation, delivering a return on investment, as well as food and beverage operations , back of house and human resources activities.
The person in this role has the opportunity to make a real impact on the hotels success and to create a positive and memorable experience for guests.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Business administration, Hotel management or related to Hospitality Management major
  • Proven track record, with preferably pre-opening experience
    Minimum 10+ years continuous experience in Hospitality Operations, minimum 5+ years work experience in management and operation of global brand hotel.
  • Demonstrated experience in brand citizenship by establishing and maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards
  • Leadership capabilities to navigate through the complex and unique Japanese landscape (Organizational hierarchy, culture, business practice, consumer & employee behavior)
  • Written and spoken English proficiency required
  • Previous experience in Japan & Business Japanese level language is preferred but not mandatory
  • Marriotts/IHGs background is preferred

Responsibilities

As a Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

Human Resource and Talent Acquisition

  • Talent and recruitment in a highly labor competitive market
  • Oversee HR related actions in accordance with company rules and policies
  • Develop, implement and lead team members through communication and coaching of brand standards
  • Make yourself self-available to employees with open door policy
  • Celebrate the success of employees in a public way
  • Create a fostering environment of open communication and team work by spending time with employees on the frontlines
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues and hotel assets

Operations

  • Implement transition to global brand standards
  • Manage each hotels daily operations with a hands-on approach by focusing on improving service operations and productivity
  • Maintain and improvc operational brand standards to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Execute the strategic and operational initiatives that have been discussed, while providing consistent feedback and alternative initiatives
  • Oversee all aspects of BOH and FOH operations including strategic direction of projects related to the hotel property which consists of planning, administration, execution, and evaluating financial results
  • Create and support clear lines of responsibility for management team, including coverage and oversight throughout the day
  • Ensure the hotel property, including back of house areas meet sanitation standards and safety standard

Food and Beverage

  • Monitor Food and Beverage budget and maximize Food and Beverage profit margins
  • Build relationships with local vendors to support local community, and Food and Beverage operational needs
  • Ensure all Food and Beverage operations meet International Service Brand Standards and sanitation Brand Standards
  • Provide PMS troubleshooting training to employees for all F&B outlets

Sales and Marketing

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue
  • Ability to keep up with the new industry trends & competitor initiatives
  • Ability to actively seek new revenue opportunities and ways of optimizing profit
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing team to establish property sales strategy, goals and action plans
  • Identify and provide key revenue generating stakeholders and customers and communication information to sales officesFinancial
  • Ability to review business data including market share, financial performance, inventory, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, booking channels, and revenue sources
  • Ability to analyze business data to proactively optimize costs while ensuring revenue is maximized
  • Work closely with the sales & revenue management team to develop effective pricing strategies, considering seasonality, customer segments, property goals and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to identify multiple ways to grow RevPAR, Occupancy, and market share through revenue management, sales and marketing strategies
  • Prepare annual capital, cash flow and sales and marketing plans to accurately create budgets.

Stakeholder Management

  • Transparent and efficient communication with head office management, board of directors and shareholders by providing updates on property performance in the areas of financials, guest satisfaction and overall operations
  • Conduct annual business reviews and annual budget reports
  • Implement and give feedback about any initiative or strategy given by head office for the hotel property
