Senior Operational Manager, Risk Control

A sizable and reputable Financial Group is looking for a high-calibre Operational Manager to assist the Head of Operation and Risk Control to establish a risk framework for monitoring and mitigating the operational risks of a Life Insurance & Investment Platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Hong Kong Operational Process and Risk Control Team by formulating and implementing sound operational procedures with consideration of striking a balance among efficiency, flexibility, control and customer experience, which align with the business objectives of OnePlatform and ensure compliance with the latest group policies and regulatory requirement
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls during due diligence of new products/ service propositions
  • Conduct reviews to identify possible operational risks, provide recommendations to address the control weakness and monitor the implementation progress of the remedial action(s)
  • Prepare risk control report and perform internal control testing on business processes, analyze the control weakness and suggest remedy action on the operational risk view
  • Drive the development of management information reports to effectively monitor and minimize the business risks
  • Work with relevant parties to develop and maintain business continuity plan
  • Collaborate with operation team to perform gap analysis on group driven polices, standards, control registers and regulatory driven requirements, to apply dispensations and develop mitigating controls to bridge the gaps accordingly.
  • Investigate operational/risk incidents and work closely with stakeholders and relevant risk owners to ensure root causes/risks/issues and control enhancements are identified/assessed/resolved and implemented in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Promote the culture of risk management, educate and provide risk training for internal departments when deemed necessary
  • Report and monitor operational risks/incidents in the risk tracking system, in accordance with Group Operational Risk Procedures and track to ensure the proper and timely closure.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience in product development and product management in Life Insurance or/& Investment Products
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to engage and collaborate with senior management and working committee in development and execution of product strategies
  • Experience in leading and developing team
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills in managing different stakeholders
  • Prominent skill to oversight and leadership for the execution of product & marketing strategies with business partners
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly-proficient use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
