Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Partner(s). This role is responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic innovation across the Shenzhen office and the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The COO will lead all support functions, ensuring alignment with the firm's business objectives, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing overall organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Operations & Leadership

  • Partner with the Managing Partner and regional leadership to design and implement the firm's strategic vision for the GBA.
  • Lead and integrate all support functions (Administration, HR, IT, Finance, Office Services) to optimize workflows, drive efficiency, and support attorney productivity.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and financial health.
  • Provide strategic insights through regular performance reporting to the Managing Partner and headquarters.

2. Business Enablement & External Engagement

  • Act as a senior liaison for internal stakeholders and senior executives to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Plan and execute high-profile firm events, including client seminars, annual conferences, and team-building retreats.
  • Organize and facilitate partner and management committee meetings, ensuring effective follow-up on action items.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key external partners, government authorities, and service providers.

You will have

1. Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a law firm or other professional services environment; prior international firm experience is a strong advantage.
  • Outstanding language skills with full professional proficiency in English and Cantonese.
