Job Summary
The Asia Manager is a senior Apparel specialist with a strong understanding of commercial viability in the industry. You are strategic in your vision and able to lead a team effectively. You can drive price and costing conversations at a high level and in detail to achieve better commercial outcomes for the business. You can consolidate the factory supply base, ensuring vendors match brand requirements. You are responsible for developing and managing the China team and supply base. This individual manages the costing process with internal teams and factories to service all company departments.
Responsibilities
Lead the Asia team
Build collaboration between Asia and Melbourne teams
Accuracy and competitive advantage in FOB negotiation & supplier management.
New factory viability and initial assessments in conjunction with DW Compliance.
Ability to implement improved processes with internal teams as well as suppliers
Requirements
Capability across Apparel product development with a focus on manufacturing background.
An understanding of footwear is viewed as positive
Strong Cost negotiation and Cost Engineering experience. Understand & ability to implement should-cost modelling.
Fabric and Sustainability knowledge
Strong in-country network
DDS /Low-cost product experience, sport/athleisure an advantage
Knowledge of basic Ethical Sourcing and compliance requirements
Garment construction knowledge
Proven track record of factory capacity planning
Work autonomously in the region but with close communication and partnership with Head Office in Australia.
