Job Summary
- This dynamic and experienced Sourcing Manager drives the expansion into new markets through the development of a profitable B2B network. He or she will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing and supply of furniture products that can be sold through B2B channels worldwide. This role is pivotal in establishing successful product lines as well as building and leading a dedicated team to support operations.
Responsibilities
- Global Furniture Product Sourcing and Supply:
- Identify and source high-quality furniture factories from global suppliers that align with the brand values, quality standards, pricing requirements and delivery timelines.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to ensure product offerings remain competitive and relevant in the market.
- B2B Sales Network Development:
- Work closely with current sales network and Brand Managers to understand their requirements and identify opportunities for expansion.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand market demand, identify potential customers, and develop strategies to penetrate new markets.
- Product Line Development:
- Drive the development of a new line of furniture products, ensuring they align with market trends, customer preferences, and business objectives. Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insights to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Profit and Loss Management:
- Develop strategies to maximize the profitability of the new line of business and ensure the product offerings meet targeted financial goals.
- Regularly analyze the profit and loss performance of the furniture line and make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationship with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, contracts, and pricing agreement. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standard and delivery expectations.
- Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure all furniture products meet the standard and customer expectations. Conduct regular inspections and audit of suppliers to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Set Quality Standards for each product quality aligned with each Brand and Market requirements.
- Team Management and Leadership:
- Build and lead a dedicated team, comprising the operations team, to handle sourcing, supply chain, quality control and logistics.
- Provide stewardship guidance, training, and mentorship to the team to ensure effective execution of tasks and alignment with company objectives.
- Furniture Industry Expertise:
- Leverage the extensive experience in furniture sourcing and retail to make informed decisions and lead the team effectively.
- Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and regulations related to furniture sourcing and manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A relevant masters degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in furniture sourcing, retail, and supply chain management, preferably in a global context.
- Strong knowledge of the furniture industry, including production processes.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and manage profit and loss performance effectively.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of professionals.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of implementing successful business expansion plans.
- Familiarity with supply chain management and principles of best practices.
