Job Summary
The Group Head of IT is responsible primarily for setting up all IT policies and procedures, managing IT related resources, functions and projects for entire Hotel group including Corporate Office.
Responsibilities
- Understands, establishes, reviews, follows and upholds Group IT P&Ps.
- Reviews and maintains system security including access rights control, password control, and logical and physical access to computer resources.
- Reviews and supervises all new software development and deployment to make sure specific requirements are met.
- Reviews, revises and distributes Group Guidelines for IT as necessary.
- Reviews, maintains, supports and enforces Group standards and requirements in accordance with Group IT P&Ps.
- Implements, operates and monitors backup plans and procedures for all computer technology systems and services.
- Maintains Disaster Recovery Plan for all computer technology systems and services.
- Prepares annual budget including centralized expenses on IT capital expenditure and operating expenses.
- Ensures Corporate Office and all hotels have complied with Group IT P&Ps on physical, logical, environmental and infrastructure controls over all computer systems.
- Ensures that all IT staff at hotel level are well trained and equipped with essential knowledge and skills in managing existing hardware and software.
- Explores new technologies for both Corporate Office and hotels for the purpose of increasing revenue and competitiveness and/or enhancing cost-effectiveness.
- Assists and guides hotels in project management of new system implementation including resources planning, job co-ordination, policy compliance, planning, job co-ordination, policy compliance, progress monitoring and overall supervision.
- Ensures that IT dept of each hotel has maintained proper Disaster Recovery Plan for all computer technology systems and assists any hotel in executing DRP / BCP as required.
- Provides professional advice to hotels on IT related issues.
- Reviews/recommends and endorses as appropriate any IT-related purchase request.
- Develops and evaluates IT teams performance.
- Sets goals for IT team.
Requirements
- Degree in IT, MIS, computer science, business administration or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of solid broad-based IT management experience; direct management of major IT operation at group level & proven experience as an effective leader of IT change in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker, business savvy and IT technically sophisticated management professional.
- Operations, infrastructure, data security, disaster recovery, contingency planning and security management experience.
- Hotel reservation; restaurant, property, retail management, financial management, HR and payroll, procurement, customer database management and other organizational process and system application experience desirable.
