About the Position

Maisonette is seeking a Senior Shopify Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable e-commerce solutions within our Shopify ecosystem. This role will be responsible for developing and enhancing the storefront and checkout experience, building custom functionality, and supporting integrations between Shopify and external systems.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on Shopify development experience along with a strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and modern web architecture. You'll work across the Shopify storefront, checkout, APIs, and supporting infrastructure to build reliable, high-performing solutions that support a complex e-commerce environment. You'll be responsible for translating business and product requirements into well-designed technical solutions, troubleshooting issues across interconnected systems, and ensuring the platform remains scalable, maintainable, and performant as the business evolves.

What You'll Do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Shopify storefront and checkout functionality.
• Build custom Shopify features and integrations using Shopify APIs and modern development frameworks.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Shopify and external platforms, services, and business systems.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the storefront, checkout, integrations, and supporting infrastructure.
• Optimize site performance, reliability, scalability, and overall technical quality.
• Translate product and business requirements into well-designed, maintainable technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and deployment processes.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on experience developing within the Shopify ecosystem.
• Strong experience with Shopify Plus and building and supporting complex, high-volume e-commerce environments.
• Deep understanding of Shopify architecture, including storefront, checkout, APIs, and integrations.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development technologies.
• Experience building and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs and integrating third-party systems.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and familiarity with modern deployment and production environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, debugging, testing, version control, and deployment best practices.
• Ability to independently investigate technical problems and drive solutions from design through production.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with marketplace or dropship e-commerce models, including multi-vendor catalogs, inventory, ordering, and fulfillment.
• Experience with Hydrogen, Remix, or headless Shopify architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience working with large product catalogs, complex commerce workflows, or high-traffic e-commerce platforms
