Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Compensation: $290,000 – $320,000 base (productivity incentives available)
Estimated Total Compensation: $314,000 – $464,000 annually based on productivity (15–20 patient visits per day)
Position Summary
HireNow Staffing is confidentially partnering with a large, well-established healthcare organization seeking a seasoned Physician Medical Director – Infectious Disease to lead outpatient clinical services in the Greater Jacksonville area.
This is a physician leadership role combining hands-on patient care with clinical oversight responsibilities. The Medical Director will serve as the primary clinical authority within the outpatient setting while ensuring quality standards, compliance, productivity, and patient outcomes are met.
Candidates must demonstrate employment stability and progressive clinical responsibility. Physicians with inconsistent tenure or frequent job transitions will not be considered.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Oversight

Serve as the lead physician overseeing outpatient infectious disease services.

Provide direct patient care while maintaining high clinical standards and productivity benchmarks.

Supervise and support advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs), including chart reviews and case consultation.

Guide clinical protocols and ensure adherence to evidence-based infectious disease practices.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance reporting.
Direct Patient Care

Deliver comprehensive outpatient infectious disease care, including management of HIV, STIs, chronic viral conditions, and complex infections.

Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions within scope.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation and appropriate E&M coding.

Review diagnostic studies, labs, and specialty reports promptly.

Ensure continuity of care through patient communication and follow-up.
Operational Collaboration

Partner with nursing, administrative, and care coordination teams to optimize clinic flow and patient access.

Monitor productivity metrics and scheduling efficiency.

Participate in leadership discussions regarding patient retention, service expansion, and clinical operations.

Support compliance initiatives and regulatory readiness.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

MD or DO with active Florida medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).

Board Certification in Infectious Disease.

Minimum of 2+ years outpatient clinical experience post-training.

Active DEA registration.
-
CPR/BLS certification.
-
Ability to manage a consistent outpatient patient load.

Willingness to maintain AAHIVM certification within required timeframe.

Stable employment history with consistent tenure.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Emphasized)

Prior experience in a physician leadership or supervisory capacity.

Background in both Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

Experience managing HIV-focused outpatient populations.

Familiarity with outpatient productivity models and value-based care metrics.

Experience mentoring mid-level providers.

Strong understanding of outpatient compliance, documentation standards, and coding accuracy.
