Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) – San Francisco, CA
Compensation: $180,000 – $235,000 base salary
Additional Compensation: Full benefits package + annual bonus
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. — no visa sponsorship
The Opportunity
HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for a leading law firm seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development to support its Emerging Companies & Venture Capital and Technology Transactions practices.
This role is both strategic and market-facing. The Senior Manager will work closely with practice leadership to drive growth initiatives across the innovation ecosystem—supporting founders, venture investors, and technology companies at critical stages of development. The position requires strong commercial instincts, credibility with partners, and a deep understanding of how law firms engage with fast-moving technology and venture markets.
The ideal candidate brings current law firm experience, demonstrated job longevity, and the ability to translate market activity—particularly in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies—into actionable client development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Candidates will be considered for interview based on demonstrated experience performing the following responsibilities at a senior level:

Develop and execute comprehensive business development and marketing strategies in collaboration with EC/VC and Technology Transactions partners and cross-functional teams

Track emerging company financings and venture activity on a daily basis, surfacing firmwide relationships, touchpoints, and outreach opportunities

Partner with Securities & Capital Markets teams to monitor IPO pipelines and assess market readiness

Collaborate with Mergers & Acquisitions teams to identify likely acquisition targets and strategic transaction opportunities

Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to produce high-quality pitches, proposals, and RFP responses

Work with global business development colleagues to identify and advance cross-selling initiatives across practices and offices

Develop, maintain, and refine practice marketing materials, including practice descriptions, website content, experience lists, and awards submissions

Evaluate, manage, and execute sponsorships and strategic partnerships, including structured post-event follow-up to maximize ROI

Plan and oversee client events, webinars, seminars, and conferences aligned with innovation and venture communities

Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on media relations, thought leadership, and digital initiatives

Contribute to department-wide efforts to enhance business development processes, tools, and best practices

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
These qualifications are mandatory. Candidates who do not meet all requirements will not be considered for interview.

Bachelor's degree (focus in marketing, business, or law preferred)

10+ years of professional experience in business development or marketing

5+ years of current law firm experience (required)

Demonstrated support of transactional or corporate practices within a law firm environment

Strong understanding of law firm operations and the expectations of sophisticated corporate clients

Proven record of job longevity and professional continuity

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
