The Opportunity
HireNow Staffing is representing a highly regarded New York–based law firm seeking an exceptional Commercial Finance Associate with 2–4 years of experience to join a sophisticated transactional practice.
This role is designed for attorneys who have already proven themselves in demanding environments and are ready to take on meaningful responsibility in complex, high-value finance transactions. The practice rewards precision, judgment, and consistency—not résumé padding or short-term career moves.
This is not a training role. Candidates must arrive with strong fundamentals, hands-on deal experience, and the professional maturity expected of elite finance practitioners.
Key Responsibilities
Candidates will be evaluated heavily on demonstrated experience performing the following:
-
Represent lenders and borrowers in commercial finance transactions, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating transaction documents
-
Take an active role in asset-based lending transactions, from due diligence through closing
-
Manage discrete portions of complex deals with limited supervision while coordinating with senior attorneys
-
Review and analyze credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and ancillary transaction materials
-
Identify and resolve legal and business issues that arise in fast-moving transactional settings
-
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, counterparties, and clients
-
Maintain accuracy, organization, and responsiveness under tight timelines
Only candidates with substantive, hands-on deal exposure will be considered.
Required Qualifications (Strict Requirements)
These qualifications are mandatory. Candidates who do not meet all requirements should not apply.
-
2–4 years of commercial finance experience in a law firm setting
-
Less than 2 years or more than 4 years of experience will not be considered
-
-
Experience gained at an AmLaw 120 firm
-
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
-
Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
-
Demonstrated experience handling complex finance transactions, not limited to document review
-
Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
-
Clear record of job stability and professional continuity
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Differentiating)
Candidates with the following experience will be viewed as standout applicants:
-
Deep experience in asset-based lending transactions
-
Exposure to transportation finance
-
Track record of meaningful responsibility on sophisticated, multi-party deals
-
Strong commercial judgment and business-minded approach to legal problem-solving
Who This Role Is For

Attorneys who take pride in technical excellence and precision
-
Professionals seeking long-term growth, not lateral résumé moves
-
Candidates who value rigor, accountability, and consistency
-
Associates who want to be trusted with real responsibility on high-stakes transactions
