This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a legal mind who thrives in litigation support and is ready to build and lead a centralized Managing Clerks Office (MCO) spanning multiple offices.
This role blends litigation operations, risk management, people leadership, and innovation ideal for someone with deep procedural knowledge and a passion for scaling efficient, tech-enabled support services in a high-performing law firm environment.
What You'll Do
Strategic Operations & Team Leadership
  • Design, implement, and oversee the Managing Clerks Office structure across offices
  • Mentor and lead a team of court filing and calendaring professionals
  • Collaborate with legal leadership and operations to deliver high-quality, risk-conscious support
  • Align litigation support services with firmwide strategy and compliance standards
  • Coordinate procedural training programs for attorneys and support teams
Court Filing & Procedure Oversight
  • Manage and advise on all aspects of court filing (electronic and manual) across federal and state jurisdictions
  • Serve as a resource on procedural rules and jurisdictional nuances
  • Liaise with local counsel, e-filing systems, and third-party services to ensure timely and compliant submissions
Calendar Management & Compliance
  • Direct firmwide calendaring and tracking of court deadlines, statutes, and procedural timelines
  • Enhance existing systems and implement new technologies for docketing and calendaring
  • Proactively identify and mitigate procedural risks in collaboration with firm leadership
Innovation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Drive process improvements to increase consistency and efficiency in litigation support
  • Champion the use of new technologies and platforms to modernize docketing operations
  • Contribute to ongoing firmwide legal services innovation initiatives
What You'll Need to Succeed
JD degree required
Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience with litigation docketing and court procedures
At least 4 years as a Managing or Deputy Managing Clerk/Attorney in a multi-office law firm
Proficiency in docketing software (e.g., CompuLaw, LegalKEY) and e-filing platforms (PACER, NYSCEF)
Prior team leadership and mentoring experience
Ability to navigate competing priorities in a high-volume litigation environment
Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
Willingness to be available outside of business hours when necessary
