HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a Senior Protection Engineer for a fully remote opportunity with one of the nation's top engineering firms. If you're a high-level expert in relay protection and control design, system studies, and NERC compliance, this role puts you at the forefront of critical infrastructure projects all while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the development of protection and control designs for substation and transmission systems (69kV500kV)

• Perform short circuit, relay coordination, and arc flash studies using industry-standard tools (ETAP, ASPEN, CAPE, etc.)

• Develop relay settings, one-lines, schematics, and wiring diagrams for utility and industrial clients

• Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and regional reliability council standards

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight on complex protection projects

• Collaborate with utilities, consultants, and internal project teams across the country

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)

• Professional Engineer (PE) license (strongly preferred)

• 7+ years of experience in protection & control engineering for power systems

• Hands-on experience with relay programming, testing, and coordination studies

• Familiarity with SEL, GE Multilin, and other leading relay manufacturers

• Ability to manage multiple projects and interface with clients independently

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with renewable energy interconnections

• Prior work on utility-scale transmission or substation projects

• Knowledge of SCADA and automation systems
