About the Opportunity
HireNow Staffing is searching for experienced and mission-driven Pediatric ECMO Specialists to join an advanced clinical response team in Houston. This is a specialized role ideal for Registered Nurses who thrive in high-acuity pediatric care and are ready to elevate their career supporting life-saving interventions for critically ill infants and children.
You'll be part of a select group of ECMO-trained professionals who are first responders in the most complex cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Whether stabilizing a NICU patient or assisting during an emergent procedure, your work will be pivotal.
What You'll Do

Operate and manage ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) systems during critical care procedures

Collaborate closely with pediatric intensivists, surgeons, perfusionists, and the broader care team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes

Provide expert nursing assessments, interventions, and documentation throughout the ECMO process

Monitor patients for changes in status, respond to complications, and participate in rapid response situations

Educate families and assist with discharge planning for ECMO survivors

Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines

Support ongoing education and mentoring for newer clinical team members

Actively participate in quality improvement efforts within the ECMO and critical care program
Requirements
Education & Licensure:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program (required)
Active Texas RN license (or eligibility through the Nurse Licensure Compact)
BLS certification required; additional certifications may apply based on unit
ECMO specialist experience is a must
Experience:
At least 1 year of ECMO experience in a pediatric, NICU, or PICU setting
RN experience level will determine tier:

RN I: Less than 1 year

RN II: 1-3 years

RN III: 3-10 years

RN IV: 10+ years
Skills:
Confident under pressure and capable of handling high-stakes scenarios
Strong clinical judgment, documentation accuracy, and collaborative approach
Excellent communication with interdisciplinary teams and patient families
