About the Role
HireNow Staffing is working with a nationally recognized law firm that is expanding its Transportation & Supply Chain regulatory team. We're looking for an experienced International Trade & Supply Chain Associate who can hit the ground running with deep knowledge of the shipping and logistics industries someone who thrives at the intersection of regulatory compliance and global commerce.
This role will focus on advising transportation providers, cargo owners, and intermediaries on regulatory frameworks, commercial strategy, and risk management within complex, multi-jurisdictional operations. The associate will collaborate across legal teams and industries, particularly in matters involving maritime regulations and federal compliance.
What You'll Work On
  • Counseling transportation and logistics providers (including shippers, carriers, and freight forwarders) on regulatory obligations and operational risks
  • Representing clients before the Federal Maritime Commission and other regulatory bodies
  • Advising on licensing and compliance matters related to ocean shipping, rail, and motor carriers
  • Drafting commercial agreements for cargo movement, logistics services, and international supply chain operations
  • Navigating enforcement and audit matters, including responses to agency inquiries
  • Staying ahead of legal developments in trade and transportation laws, and communicating implications to clients
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience Level: 3-5 years (strictly within this range)
Background in regulatory law within the shipping, logistics, or international trade sectors
Firsthand experience advising clients in the transportation industry (shippers, NVOCCs, ports, or carriers)
Prior dealings with the Federal Maritime Commission or similar bodies
Outstanding legal research, writing, and client advisory skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters with precision and poise
Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where applying
