Position Overview
HireNow Staffing is partnering with a nationally recognized law firm to recruit a Senior Associate Attorney with 5-8 years of focused experience in international trade law. This role sits within a high-performing practice that advises a diverse range of clients on critical trade issues, regulatory enforcement, and national security-related concerns.
This position is ideal for an attorney who thrives in complex, cross-border legal environments and is looking to lead sophisticated matters involving U.S. import/export controls, trade remedies, sanctions, and compliance strategy.
What You'll Be Working On
  • Trade Remedy Actions: Represent clients in matters involving antidumping (AD), countervailing duties (CVD), and other trade-related investigations and litigation
  • Customs & Import Strategy: Advise on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations
  • Sanctions & Export Controls: Guide multinational clients on OFAC, EAR, and ITAR compliance and enforcement risks
  • National Security: Lead or support filings with CFIUS, including transaction reviews and regulatory strategy
  • Enforcement Defense: Assist with internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and responses to government inquiries
  • Client Counsel: Draft legal opinions, prepare policy analyses, and contribute to strategy sessions on international risk and compliance
Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 5 to 8 years practicing in international trade law, with a specific focus on customs matters, trade remedies, or export/sanctions compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage case files, interface with government agencies, and advise sophisticated corporate clients
  • Strong research and drafting skills with attention to detail
  • Confident communicator who can handle client-facing responsibilities and collaborate effectively across legal teams
  • Education: J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
  • Licensure: Active member in good standing of the D.C. Bar (or eligible to waive in)
  • Additional language skills, international experience, or public-sector background are a plus
