What You'll Do

Take ownership of active eminent domain cases from start to finish depositions, motion drafting, discovery, and trial preparation.

Assist public clients in the legal aspects of property acquisition, including valuation, just compensation, and procedural planning.

Conduct legal research and draft motions, oppositions, and other court filings that address nuanced legal and factual issues.

Collaborate with appraisers, engineers, and other subject matter experts to support valuation disputes and defend agency actions.

Participate in strategic case planning, client communications, and settlement negotiations.

Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and potentially bench or jury trials in complex takings cases.
What You Bring

2-5 years of solid litigation experience ideally in real estate, infrastructure, or condemnation law.

Demonstrated skill in discovery, depositions, motion practice, and case strategy.

A clear understanding of valuation principles, particularly as they apply to public infrastructure and land use.

Experience working with or representing public agencies or local governments is a strong plus.

Excellent legal writing skills and an ability to simplify and communicate complex property issues to courts and clients alike.
