Position Overview
HireNow Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg (Night shift) role in Mayfield, KY. Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care:
- Provide direct patient care to individuals using the nursing process, ensuring that care is delivered according to scope and standards of practice.
- Perform interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care as required.
- Patient Monitoring & Documentation:
- Monitor patient conditions and document care given in accordance with protocols.
- Communicate patient status to the healthcare team, physicians, patients, and families as needed.
- Assisting with Daily Living Activities:
- Support patients with their activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and ambulation.
- Collaborative Care & Coordination:
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, including patient transfers, discharge, referrals, and addressing psychosocial needs.
- Assist in managing patient and family education on health-related issues, customizing information to patient conditions and cultural considerations.
- Advocacy & Well-Being:
- Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being, providing compassionate care and ensuring the highest quality of service.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Associates degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (preferred)
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 45 days of hire)
Licenses:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky or compact state (required)
- New Graduates may work under a Kentucky provisional RN license for up to 6 months, with the expectation to obtain full RN licensure within the first 6 months of employment.
Required Skills:
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement patient care interventions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
