This full-time opportunity is designed for an experienced logistics sales professional who excels at building customer relationships, expanding international shipping business, and driving revenue growth within the global freight forwarding industry.
The successful candidate will develop new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer partnerships, and provide customized international freight solutions across air, ocean, and multimodal transportation services. This role requires strong sales acumen, knowledge of international shipping regulations, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service while managing complex global logistics requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new international freight forwarding business through strategic prospecting and relationship development.
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of freight forwarding clients while identifying opportunities for expanded services.
- Consult with customers to understand shipping requirements and recommend cost-effective international logistics solutions.
- Prepare competitive freight quotations, pricing proposals, and service agreements.
- Negotiate freight rates with customers while collaborating with operations to ensure profitable solutions.
- Coordinate with internal logistics teams to support seamless shipment execution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and supply chain decision-makers.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, pipeline activity, and revenue reporting.
- Deliver exceptional customer service that promotes long-term client retention and repeat business.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or global transportation sales.
- Strong understanding of international air freight, ocean freight, and global supply chain operations.
- Working knowledge of international shipping documentation, customs regulations, and import/export processes.
- Proven success developing new business and achieving sales goals.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage decision-makers at multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to prepare pricing proposals and customized logistics solutions.
- Proficiency using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Must currently reside within commuting distance of Chicago, Illinois.
- Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling international air, ocean, and multimodal freight forwarding solutions.
- Established network of manufacturers, importers, exporters, distributors, or supply chain professionals.
- Experience working with customs brokers, carriers, and international logistics providers.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, international trade compliance, and customs brokerage processes.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience negotiating complex transportation agreements and long-term logistics partnerships.
- Stable employment history demonstrating progressive sales success within the logistics industry.
HireNow Package
- Compensation: $50,000–$75,000 annual base salary
- Additional Compensation: Negotiable commission structure with strong earning potential based on performance.
