HireNow Staffing is partnering with an established manufacturing organization in Waterloo, Iowa to hire a highly capable Production Supervisor for its 2nd shift operations.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, working directly alongside production teams, and driving real-time execution across safety, quality, and output. Approximately 50% of this position involves direct labor, making it best suited for supervisors who lead by example and thrive in fast-paced environments.
What You'll Own
As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for day-to-day shift execution while supporting operational priorities set by the Production Manager and Director of Operations. The right candidate will bring strong people leadership, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to keep production moving efficiently while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Qualified candidates must demonstrate the ability to:

Execute daily production schedules by assigning labor, monitoring workflow, and ensuring output targets are met

Lead and coach manufacturing employees through consistent expectations, feedback, and on-the-job training

Supervise shift performance across productivity, attendance, safety, and quality standards

Spend significant time on the production floor performing hands-on work alongside team members (approximately 50%)

Monitor staffing levels, equipment performance, and process flow to maintain operational efficiency

Identify and escalate safety, environmental, or health risks, ensuring compliance with plant standards

Serve as the quality owner for assigned production areas, reinforcing inspection requirements and corrective action

Ensure materials, supplies, and resources are available to prevent delays or downtime

Complete shift reporting, documenting key production metrics and performance trends
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and high-accountability work environment

Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, and development of new production team members
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment

Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead-level experience overseeing hourly teams

Ability to lead through presence, accountability, and hands-on execution

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under production pressure

Commitment to safety, quality, and team standards

Solid communication and interpersonal leadership ability

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting tools

Valid driver's license required

Ability to work an onsite 2nd shift schedule consistently
